I have read and researched on the modalities of a number of diet over the last twenty years of my life (started young with the "Fit for Life" concept of food combinations), and I must say many of them tend to be very persuasive in their concepts and ideas. However, some do come out with a slight taste of propaganda in the mouth, because they end up going off the deep end a bit in a sort of mania against certain types of food "to" other food.

Heck, some dietary recommendations are to worship openly and avoidance of mania whole food groups. I'm not going on a strict diet not allow a complete whole food group, unless it has been identified as something I'm allergic or something that will undoubtedly lead to many health problems for me.

I can get some of my grandmother's wisdom with any diet regimen I read about what is "everything in moderation." All this leads me to the last diet I've been interested in reading a lot lately, especially since the core principle that is operating from the principle of alkaline vs acidic foods.

The more I read about this diet, the more sense to me, especially when you consider that the proponents of the alkaline diet food demand are "creating acid in the body, such as red meats and cheese, are what cause me more digestive discomfort and acid reflux. It appealed to my common sense and so I kept reading about him with interest.

The bottom line is that Americans are so acidic diet that actually alters the pH balance of the body and creates toxic waste and acid salt accumulation in the body, which in turn contributes to our most common diseases and ailments, including obesity, diabetes, high blood pressure, heart problems, and last but not least and most speculative with caution, cancer.

By eating more alkaline foods, some of which include cucumber, avocado, lemon juice and citrust, and green vegetables like broccoli, proponents claim that can actually offset some of this damage acidity in the body, and a return to more balanced pH homeostasis. They claim that by balancing the body's acidity and alkalinity they are less likely to develop degenerative diseases, much less likely to get sick and that sickness and disease can not thrive in an alkaline environment.

What is intriguing about the alkaline diet is that there are a lot of people who have said he has been able to stop medications that had to make for years after being in the diet for a while, and also people who swear that has made them more resistant to diseases such as colds and flu. Can there be anything about this?

Many people also think that an alkaline diet helps with skin problems, mental disorder, longevity, inflammatory diseases, and last but not least, many people believe that this type of diet can be a powerful weapon against cancer. There are some in the medical establishment, of course, vehemently deny such claims, but I think it's one of those things you have to try and then judge for yourself, we do not know all parties are neutral in such matters.

For my part, I think there is some truth to this type of diet and that can help you live as a thin, healthy person. Am I going to go full alkaline? I doubt it. There are too many foods I like such as grain products and starches that are supposedly acids in the system, but if you can balance better food at least include more alkaline foods, I think even this can benefit your body.
